You will be spending the length of this course working on a hiring plan as the Human Resources Director. You will be creating a new hiring programs and seeing it through final officer assignments. Choose your role as Human Resources Director within either a Metropolitan Police Department, a State Probation/Parole Agency, or a State Correctional Department tied to a prison facility. This will be the agency that you will be working with for the length of the course.
Week One: You are the Human Resources Director for your chosen agency/department have been asked by the Director/Superintendent/Chief to create a new hiring program. The one that is currently in place (that has been in place for more than twenty years) is not bringing in the quality or the quality of qualified applicants. For this assignment, obtain three job descriiptions that correlate to the type of department that you have chosen. Provide links to these job sites as verification. Now, you will need to create a job posting for entry level officers to your department. Give your department a name and a descriiption of what type of department it is. You are looking for the best qualified candidates and a high number of applicants so that you can choose from among the best. Be specific as to the type of candidate you are looking for and the qualities that they must possess. Remember, you are looking to shake up your current hiring process. Place your department in the best light possible so that applicants will be excited to apply.
Your paper should be approximately 500 words in length (typically, two double-spaced pages), not counting cover page, reference list page, appendices, figures, or tables.
Your assignment should include a title page and a reference list page, and be completed in Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, with appropriate header, page numbers, one-inch margins, and meet all other requirements of APA Stylebook.
